Many people who have simple websites do not believe they need a sitemap. However, sitemaps are not only for navigation purposes for your site, it is also for the search engine spider. A sitemap will guide it through your site so it picks up as much information as possible.

Search engines want fresh content, so it is imperative you update your site regularly with articles or a blog. When you place articles on your site or blog, make sure to incorporate relevant keywords to your products in them. Subheadings with keywords are also important. It is also important to include links to other pages on your website in your blog and articles. Finally, add images with ALT text that include keywords.

Following these steps will make your website attractive to the all mighty search engine spider cache. It may take some time before your website receives a page rank, but with time and marketing efforts, you will see your traffic increase and so will your revenue.
